CurTiPot Acid-Base pH and Titration - A pH Calculator, a Virtual Titrator, a Real Titration Data Analyzer, a Distribution Diagram Generator - that's CurTiPot, the all-in-one freeware to learn, teach and work with chemical equilibrium of acids, bases, salts and buffers at home, classroom, interactive "dry lab", routine or research laboratory. Features of this powerful suite of MS Excel spreadsheets embrace:
* pH calculation of any aqueous solution of strong and weak acids, bases, salts, buffers and mixtures of up to 7 polyprotic systems (>40 species), with activity coefficient estimation;
* Simulation and overlay of acid-base titration curves of any complexity, with or without random errors in pH and/or volume. Valuable for teaching, generation of unlimited titration exercises and evaluation of the feasibility and accuracy of new titrations.
* Analysis of pH vs. volume data from simulated and real potentiometric titration curves by two methods: i) graphical representation of curves, assisted by cubic splines interpolation and smoothing of derivative curves, for accurate evaluation of inflections (end-points); ii) determination of concentrations and refinement of pKa values by multiple nonlinear regression (based on the Solver supplement of Excel), essential for difficult titrations with undefined inflections, e.g., acid rain.
* Generation of protonation curves and distribution diagrams of equilibrium species of acids and bases at equilibrium as a function of pH or of added volume of titrant.
* Expandable database with pKa values of 250 acids and bases.
Simply unzip the curtipot_.xls file, open it with Microsoft Excel, habilitate macros and start learning, working and teaching. No install/uninstall required, all macros are removed by closing file. The software is completely free for educational and non-commercial not-for-profit use.

The Author grant you a non-exclusive and non-transferable freeware license of CurTiPot for your personal or educational use at home, in classroom or in academic laboratories. If you intend to make commercial use of CurTiPot, including but not limited to any profitable non-educational activity or selling or distributing CurTiPot for payment you must obtain a written permission from the Author in advance.

Restrictions

You may introduce modifications in the spreadsheets to suit your needs, but you are not allowed to remove the original notices about the intellectual property of the workbook and macros, in special but not only from the front page. You shall not distribute copies of modified versions without approval of the clearly identified changes by the author.

Distribution

You may share unmodified copies of CurTiPot with students and colleagues unable to download it from the Internet, if they agree to be bound to this Terms and Conditions and as long as you take all reasonable precautions to avoid exposure of your copy to viruses. To minimize risks, it is highly advisable to use only updated copies obtained from the Author’s download page.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

The author reserves the right to update CurTiPot and to modify these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion, without notice or liability to you. You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as modified. Please download updated versions of CurTiPot from time to time and review the Terms and Conditions.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Author disclaims any responsibility for any harm resulting from your use (or use by your colleagues or students) of CurTiPot and third party software used in conjunction with it. CurTiPot is provided "AS IS," with no warranties whatsoever, express, implied, and statutory, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement of proprietary rights. The author also disclaims any warranties regarding the security, reliability, accuracy, stability, convergence and performance of CurTiPot. You understand and agree that you download and/or use CurTiPot at your own discretion and risk and that you will be solely responsible for any consequences of incorrect information or results obtained with CurTiPot. This license does not entitle Licensee to receive from the Author any extra documentation not contained in the program file, support or assistance by any means, or enhancements or updates of CurTiPot other than those made available for download at the Author’s site.

Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall the author or his employer be liable to any user on account its use or misuse of CurTiPot.
